The West African Stroke Initiative will be the FIRST neurointerventional service delivery in Nigeria, a country with a population of over 200 million people. We will offer gold standard diagnostic for non-invasive procedures and treatment for head trauma, acute stroke, brain aneurysm, brain bleeds, epilepsies, sudden severe headaches, mobility impairment related spinal cord issues, and other cerebrovascular problems involving the brain, spine, and neck region. We seek to establish a private academic partnership that will offer
services and train Neurosurgeons, Radiologists, and Neurologists to carry out these interventions while addressing the myths, cultural perceptions, and religious interpretations around these neurological conditions.
